Cary joined BBR Partners in 2009 and is the Director of Tax & Accounting. Cary oversees BBR’s Long Island office and manages the team responsible for the accounting and administration of BBR’s and clients’ pooled investment vehicles. Cary has a deep understanding of fund operational risk and is a member of the team responsible for developing a framework for assessing operational risk among BBR’s portfolio managers. Cary is also a member of BBR’s Compliance Committee.

Prior to joining BBR, Cary was a Managing Director responsible for U.S. operations of Amber Partner, a company that provides operational consulting and certification to hedge funds. Prior to that, he was head of HSBC Securities Services, Bermuda. Cary started his career as an auditor with Price Waterhouse specializing in investment companies. He has also worked for the Bank of Bermuda (which was acquired by HSBC), Goldman Sachs, and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Cary holds a BBA with Distinction in public accountancy from the Baruch College of the City University of New York; he is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. Cary also obtained his MA in Theology from Saint Joseph’s Seminary & College (Yonkers, NY).

Cary was ordained a Deacon in the Catholic Church in May 2023. Cary enjoys traveling with his wife, Pamela, and three daughters. His daughters were each adopted from Russia.
